Leasing – How to find good tenants, how to screen prospective tenants, the importance of proper paperwork, rental applications, lease agreements, etc.
Rent Rules – Rent deposits, rent receipts, landlord licensing, rent increases. Does rent control apply? When can I increase the rent? Do I need a licence? What if property taxes go down? How much can I charge for rent?
Maintenance & Repair – Landlord and tenant responsibilities under the RTA, maintenance request process, move in/out inspections, fire safety information and the importance of keeping accurate records.
